Visionaries
The
Women and Girls Fund of Waukesha County has established a goal of $1
million in endowment assets. These will allow the Fund to reach more
women and girls in need, and to provide more significant grants. Contributors
of amounts of $1,000, $5,000 or $10,000 will be honored for their foresight
and generosity. Pledges can be paid over 3-5 years.
In
addition to contributions from individual supporters, the assets for
the Fund will grow through the highly successful Women of Distinction
Awards program.

Boone
Discusses Women's Giving
Cecilia
Guthrie Boone met with 100 supporters and friends of the Women and
Girls Fund at Merrill Hills Country Club recently to discuss her
evolution as a donor and a supporter of women's and girls causes.
The
event also honored the 62 Visionary donors who have helped the Fund
through their charitable giving. According to Boone, "Helping
women and their children is the most effective way to enrich families,
schools, churches and neighborhoods."
Cecilia
Guthrie Boone – Giving with a Vision
Cecilia Guthrie Boone’s interest in women's philanthropy
began with her volunteer work in Dallas, Texas, where she worked
with organizations helping women and girls. This led her fundraising
and research into personal philanthropy with her husband Garret
Boone, founder of The Container Store. Today, she inspires others
to match their values with their giving for powerful social change
that helps both the giver and the beneficiary.
