Giving Forward Breakfast 2018
Waukesha County Community Foundation’s third annual “Giving Forward” breakfast, which was hosted at Ingleside Hotel, Pewaukee, on November 7, had nearly 350 people in attendance. Attendees learned more about the foundation, its funds and how, together with local non-profit organizations, the community benefits.
The audience heard about:
- Women and Girls Fund, helping to empower women and inspire girls; driving positive change through targeted grants to local organizations, and continue to make a greater impact with the recent addition of their “New Hope” scholarships.
- Salvation Army of Waukesha, serving Waukesha communities for 125 years and ongoing. Major programs as Community Meal, Emergency Shelter, Food Pantry and Youth Program.
- Christmas Clearing Council, is in its 69th year of helping children. Their mission is to make Christmas a magical time for children in need and remove the financial burden, if just for one day, from parents who struggle to make ends meet all year long.
In addition to learning about these organizations and events, the 2018 WCCF Community and Competitive Grants winners were announced. The 35 grant recipients are sharing $164,900.
Performers at the breakfast was the Salvation Army Band.
